Day 1: Arrival in Prishtina Airport – Prishtina (approx. 45 min drive) D

Arrive in Prishtina, the capital city of Kosova. Check into your hotel and freshen up.

Take a walking tour of Prishtina to visit key sites such as the National Library, Mother Teresa Square, and the Ethnological Museum.

Evening: Enjoy a welcome dinner at a traditional Albanian restaurant, where you can sample local dishes like flija and pite and lots of meet.

Clarification: If your arrival flight is in the morning or afternoon, the itinerary will remain as it is, but if your arrival flight is in the evening and your return flight is in the evening, the visits on this day will be transferred to the last day of the Itinerary.

Day 2: Prishtina - Prizren - Sharr Mountains – Gadima Cave – Ulpiana - Monastery of Gracanica UNESCO- Prishtina (3.4-hour drive) B – L - D

After breakfast depart to Prizren, a historic city known for its Ottoman architecture. Visit the Sinan Pasha Mosque, the Albanian League of Prizren Museum and the Stone Bridge.

Afternoon: Head to the Sharr Mountains for a scenic leisurely walk to enjoy the stunning landscapes. On the way to Prishtina visit Gadima Cave, Ulpiana Archeological site and Monastery of Gracanica UNESCO.

Evening: Return to Prishtina. Attend a local folk music performance to get a taste of traditional Albanian sounds.

Day 3: Prishtina - Peja, UNESCO Site, and Rugova Gorge – Prishtina (4.3-hour drive) B – L

Morning: After Breakfast Travel to Peja, a city at the foot of the Rugova Mountains. Visit the UNESCO-listed Patriarchate of Peja, an important Orthodox monastery.

Afternoon: Explore the Rugova Gorge, known for its dramatic cliffs and beautiful scenery. Consider a short hike or simply enjoy the views. Have a traditional lunch at a family in Rugova mountains.

Evening: Return to Prishtina. Relax and enjoy a quiet evening at your hotel or explore local cafes.

Day 4: Traditional Albanian Folk Music Workshop in Prishtina (approx. 40 min drive) B – L – D

Morning after breakfast: Participate in a workshop on traditional Albanian folk music. Learn about the history and significance of different instruments like the çiftelia, sharkia and lahuta.

Afternoon: Continue the workshop with hands-on practice, guided by local musicians.

Evening: Attend a small group performance where you can see the skills you've learned in action.

Day 5: Albanian Folk Dance Workshop in Prishtina (approx. 50 min drive) B – L - D

Morning after breakfast: Join a dance workshop to learn traditional Albanian folk dances such as the Valle and Shota. Understand the cultural stories behind each dance.

Afternoon: Practice the steps and movements with guidance from experienced dancers.

Evening: Participate in a group dance session, where you can showcase what you've learned.

Day 6: Cultural Immersion and Craft Workshop in Prishtina District (2-hour drive) B – L – D

Morning after breakfast: Visit a local village to experience daily life and engage with the community. Learn about traditional crafts such as weaving and embroidery, how cheese or dairy products are prepared in a village, and how is the way of life in the village.

Afternoon: Participate in a hands-on craft workshop, creating your own piece of traditional art to take home or just talk to the villagers and enjoy the village life.

Evening: Enjoy a farewell dinner with the village community, featuring local music and dance.

Day 7: Departure from Prishtina to Prishtina Airport (approx. 45 min drive) B

Morning: Spend your last morning in Prishtina shopping for souvenirs or visiting any sites you may have missed. Check out of your hotel and prepare for your departure, as per your flight schedule. Depart from Prishtina with memories of Kosovo's rich folklore and cultural heritage.

Best months for tours

We recommend you booking this tour for one of the months: March, April, May, June, September, October or November. However, this tour can be booked also in other months as per your request, we arrange the tour during the 12 months of the year.



Cancellation Policy

Payment Conditions for Group Departure dates, for clients that book directly at our website.

1.1. THE CLIENT is required to pay Balkan Destination a deposit of 30% of the total amount at the moment he/she book the tour as per departure dates or Private tour (FIT) at our website.

1.2. The remaining 70% of the total amount must be paid to Balkan Destination LTD, no later than 30 days prior to start date of services of this tour group departure or Private (FIT) tour.

1.3. If you book this tour within 30 days before the tour starts according to the group departure dates or as per your departure date as a private (FIT) tour, we will require from you to pay 100% whole amount before the tour starts.

Cancellation Policy for Group Departure dates and Private Tours

For group tours of 6 people or more, the following cancellation policy will apply:

a. If the reservation is cancelled/amended 45 days or more, prior to the arrival date, then a full refund will be given, minus a bank transaction charges.

b. If the reservation is cancelled/amended 44 to 30 days, prior to the arrival date, a 10 % penalty of the total amount will apply.

c. If the reservation is cancelled/amended 29 to 21 days, prior to the arrival date, a 30 % penalty of the total amount will apply.

d. If the reservation is cancelled/amended 20 to 15 days, prior to the arrival date, a 50 % penalty of the total amount will apply.

e. If the reservation is cancelled/amended 14 to 7 days, prior to the arrival date, a 70 % penalty of the total amount will apply.

f. If the reservation is cancelled/amended less than 7 days prior to the arrival date a non-refund will apply.

g. In case of no shows or early interruption of services a strict non-refund rule will apply.

Cancellation for FIT/Individuals private bookings. FIT tours of 5 participants or less which have been confirmed paid and Invoice settled, can be cancelled without penalty up to 10 days prior to arrival date. Cancellations after this deadline will be charged 100% in full. Bank transfer for refunds will be the recipients’ responsibility.

Balkan Destination reserve the right to cancel any of the published tours on our site only according to fixed dates that are published for groups. When there are not enough participants on the relevant dates, in such cases, we may cancel the departure date by notifying the clients that already booked in a written notice, no later than 30 days prior to the start of the tour departure date. In such cases when we cancel a departure due to insufficient participants on the due date, the clients will be refunded all the money 100 % they have paid to us in total.
