Day 1: Arrival in Tirana International Airport - Tirana (45 minutes driving time)
Upon arrival at Tirana International Airport, you will be greeted by your tour guide and transferred to your hotel in Tirana. After checking in, you will have the rest of the day to relax and explore the city at your own pace. Overnight at a 4-star hotel in Tirana.
Day 2: Tirana - Kruja – Tirana (2 hours driving time) (B)
After breakfast, you will depart for the historic town of Kruja, located in the mountains of central Albania. Here, you will visit the Kruja Castle, which was the centre of the Albanian resistance against the Ottoman Empire in the 15th century. You will also have the opportunity to explore the Old Bazaar, where you can shop for traditional Albanian crafts and souvenirs. In the afternoon, you will return back to Tirana, to explore the city's main attractions, including Skanderbeg Square, the National Historical Museum, the Et'hem Bey Mosque, and BUNK'ART 2 reconstructs the history of the Albanian Ministry of Internal Affairs from 1912 to 1991 and reveals the secrets of “Sigurimi”, the political police that was the harsh persecution. In the evening, you will have a farewell dinner at a traditional Albanian restaurant. Overnight at a 4-star hotel in Tirana.
Day 3: Tirana - Durres – Apollonia - Vlora (2.3 hours driving time) (B)
After breakfast, you will depart for the coastal city of Durres, where you will visit the Durres Amphitheatre, one of the largest Roman amphitheatres in the Balkans. After this visit you will continue to the ancient city of Apollonia, where you will visit the Apollonia Archaeological Park and the Apollonia Museum. In the evening, you will arrive in the coastal city of Vlora, where you will have the rest of the day to relax and enjoy the beach or visit National Museum of Independence. Overnight at a 4-star hotel in Vlora.
Day 4: Vlora - Llogara Pass - Butrint – Gjirokaster (4.3 hours driving time) (B)
After breakfast, you will depart for the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Butrint, an ancient Illyrian and Greek and Roman city located on a hill overlooking the Vivari Channel. Here, you will have the opportunity to explore the archaeological site, which includes a theatre, a Roman bath complex, and a Byzantine basilica. In the late afternoon, you will continue to another UNESCO World Heritage Site of Gjirokaster, known for its well-preserved Ottoman-era architecture. Here, you will visit the Gjirokaster Castle and the Ethnographic Museum, which is housed in a traditional Ottoman-style house. Overnight at a boutique traditional hotel in Gjirokaster.
Day 5: Gjirokaster – Berat - Tirana International Airport (4.2 hours driving time) (B)
After breakfast, you will continue to the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Berat, known as the "City of a One Thousand and one Windows" due to its unique Ottoman-era architecture, visit the Berat Castle, which offers panoramic views of the city and the surrounding countryside. You will also have the opportunity to explore the Onufri Museum, which houses a collection of religious icons from the 16th century. In the afternoon, visit also The Ethnographic Museum with a rich collection of 1,300 objects is an important testimony to the Albanian culture. Before driving to Tirana don't forget to take a picture at Osumi Bridge. Drive to Tirana International Airport. You will be transferred to Tirana International Airport for your departure flight as per your flight schedule.

Best months for tours
We recommend you booking this tour for one of the months: March, April, May, September, October or November. However, this tour can be booked also in other months as per your request, we arrange the tour during the 12 months of the year.
If you would like to book this tour for one of the months that we don't recommend: June, July or August, the price per person will be for 20% higher than other months that we recomend.
This tour is private. For group tours of more than 10 people in a group, please contact us for lower prices.
Cancellation Policy
Payment Conditions for Group Departure dates, for clients that book directly at our website.
1.1. THE CLIENT is required to pay Balkan Destination a deposit of 30% of the total amount at the moment he/she book the tour as per departure dates or Private tour (FIT) at our website.
1.2. The remaining 70% of the total amount must be paid to Balkan Destination LTD, no later than 30 days prior to start date of services of this tour group departure or Private (FIT) tour.
1.3. If you book this tour within 30 days before the tour starts according to the group departure dates or as per your departure date as a private (FIT) tour, we will require from you to pay 100% whole amount before the tour starts.
Cancellation Policy for Group Departure dates and Private Tours
For group tours of 6 people or more, the following cancellation policy will apply:
a. If the reservation is cancelled/amended 45 days or more, prior to the arrival date, then a full refund will be given, minus a bank transaction charges.
b. If the reservation is cancelled/amended 44 to 30 days, prior to the arrival date, a 10 % penalty of the total amount will apply.
c. If the reservation is cancelled/amended 29 to 21 days, prior to the arrival date, a 30 % penalty of the total amount will apply.
d. If the reservation is cancelled/amended 20 to 15 days, prior to the arrival date, a 50 % penalty of the total amount will apply.
e. If the reservation is cancelled/amended 14 to 7 days, prior to the arrival date, a 70 % penalty of the total amount will apply.
f. If the reservation is cancelled/amended less than 7 days prior to the arrival date a non-refund will apply.
g. In case of no shows or early interruption of services a strict non-refund rule will apply.
Cancellation for FIT/Individuals private bookings. FIT tours of 5 participants or less which have been confirmed paid and Invoice settled, can be cancelled without penalty up to 10 days prior to arrival date. Cancellations after this deadline will be charged 100% in full. Bank transfer for refunds will be the recipients’ responsibility.
Balkan Destination reserve the right to cancel any of the published tours on our site only according to fixed dates that are published for groups. When there are not enough participants on the relevant dates, in such cases, we may cancel the departure date by notifying the clients that already booked in a written notice, no later than 30 days prior to the start of the tour departure date. In such cases when we cancel a departure due to insufficient participants on the due date, the clients will be refunded all the money 100 % they have paid to us in total.
