Departure from Pristina
Meet your guide and fellow hikers in front of the NEWBORN Monument in Pristina for a short introduction and briefing about the day’s adventure. Your guide will explain the hiking route, safety guidelines, and what to expect during the tour. After the introduction, the group departs toward the Rugova Mountains, one of the most beautiful natural areas in Kosovo.

Scenic Drive to the Trailhead (Approx. 2 hours)
Enjoy a comfortable and scenic drive toward the Rugova Valley, passing through the historic city of Peja, known as the gateway to the mountains. As the road enters the Rugova Gorge, you will experience spectacular views of steep cliffs, forests, and mountain landscapes. The drive continues deeper into the mountains until you reach the trailhead, where the hiking adventure begins.

Begin the Hike to Liqenati Lake (Approx. 3 hours)
The hike starts through dense pine forests and mountain trails, gradually ascending toward the alpine zone of the Rugova Mountains. Along the way, you will experience the peaceful atmosphere of the forest, fresh mountain air, and beautiful views of surrounding peaks. As the trail continues, the scenery opens up to wide alpine meadows and impressive mountain landscapes, making the hike both rewarding and scenic.

Lunch Break at Liqenati Lake (1 hour)
After reaching Liqenati Lake, also known as Kuqishta Lake, you will take a relaxing break beside one of the most picturesque alpine lakes in Kosovo. Surrounded by dramatic mountain peaks, the lake offers a perfect setting to enjoy your packed lunch, relax, and take photos of the stunning scenery. Your guide will also share interesting information about the Rugova region and the natural environment.

Descent and Return to Pristina (Approx. 3 hours)
After the break, the group begins the descent back to the trailhead, following the same scenic trail through forests and mountain landscapes. Once the hike is completed, you will meet the driver and begin the return journey to Pristina. Arrive back in the city in the early evening after a rewarding day exploring the natural beauty of the Rugova Mountains and Liqenati Lake.
